What is the ROSA Lotto?

Can you remember your Old School Number? Then register your name to join in the fun to play and win.

There are five big prizes to win and to enter all you need is:

·         Your old school number (or date of birth for Associate Members)

·         The year you left Reedham

·         A ticket

Why is ROSA doing this?

The ROSA Lotto is a great fun way of boosting ROSA funds, rewarding members and helping good causes.

How can I register to enter the ROSA Lotto?

Registering is simple.  Just complete & return the attached form or visit ROSA’s Website to register online.

Can anyone play the ROSA Lotto?

Initially we are restricting this to just ROSA Members.

How many tickets can I buy?

A maximum of three tickets are allowed in each draw.

When is the draw?

The draw will be made ‘live’ on Annual Reunion day. All the winners’ names will be published in Rosabeam.

Is there a closing date?

Yes. The Annual Reunion day. However you can still enter right up until 1 hour before the draw takes place.

What’s my number?

At last you have a use for that number sewn into the back of your shirt.  To give you a unique and meaningful number we combine your old school number with the year that you left Reedham. For example:

If your school number was 68 and you left in 1972 your Lotto number would be: 6872.

For Associate Members we use your date of birth and your Lotto number would be: 051053.

How much does it cost to play?

Only £10.00 a ticket (or less than 20p a week). A maximum of 3 tickets are allowed (that’s just 58p a week).

How do I pay for my entry?

The preferred method of payment is to use the attached standing order form.  This will guarantee that you are always in the draw each year and reduces the administrative burden on ROSA.  However we will gladly receive payment by cheque, money order or cash.  All payments should be made payable to ROSA Lotto.

What are my chances of winning?

Very good indeed! The odds are very favourable compared with most lotteries. If we have the maximum number of tickets in the draw, your odds on winning a prize will be no worse than approximately 1 in 1000.

How do I win?

On Reunion Day, five winning numbers will be drawn randomly under the supervision of a scrutineer.

If any of these numbers match your unique number in the ROSA Lotto Register, you are a winner!

The first number drawn wins 1st Prize, the second number wins 2nd Prize, the third number wins 3rd Prize, the fourth number wins 4th Prize and the fifth number wins 5th Prize.

How much can I win?

The prize fund is 50% of the proceeds, which is divided into five bands to respectively fund the five prizes.

The value of the prizes depends on the number of registered ticket holders and the number of tickets sold.

If all of our members purchased 3 tickets, this would generate a total prize fund of approximately £5500.00; yielding a 1st Prize of £2500, 2nd Prize of £1500, 3rd Prize of £750, 4th Prize of £500 and a 5th Prize of £250.

If half our members purchased 2 tickets, this would generate a total prize fund of approximately £1750.00; yielding a 1st Prize of £1000, 2nd Prize of £400, 3rd Prize of £200, 4th Prize of £100 and a 5th Prize of £50.

Do I receive a receipt for my entries in the ROSA Lotto?

Receipts will be sent on request.  A receipt sent by e-mail is preferred as this reduces administration costs. Those not on e-mail, will receive a receipt by post.

Will you have rollovers?

No.  There will always be five winners!  The total prize money is distributed following each draw.

How are the winners notified?

In person, if they are present at the draw on Reunion Day.  Otherwise, all the winners will be notified either by e-mail or letter following the draw.  A list of all the winners will be published in Rosabeam.

How are prizes paid out?

All winnings are paid by cheque, made payable to the registered ticket holder.

How much will go to good causes?

The fund is 49% of the proceeds.  If all members buy 3 tickets, the fund would be approximately £5500.00.

Who chooses the good causes?

Members can propose a good cause on their Registration Form. All beneficiaries will be nominated through the Committee and approved at the AGM. These will include ROSA and The Reedham Trust.

Who is running the administration of the ROSA Lotto?

The ROSA Committee. A maximum of 1% of the proceeds will go on administration.

Who operates the ROSA Lotto?

The ROSA Committee, whose decisions will be final.

Where is the ROSA Lotto money deposited?

All moneys are deposited in a separate ROSA Lotto account, held with Barclays Bank PLC.
